All dentists caution against teeth whitening boutiques, where the procedure is carried out by an unqualified individual.
The whitening gel that a dentist uses has a higher concentration of peroxide than DIY kits and toothpastes and will deliver a safer, faster and more effective and professional result.
PLEASE REMEMBER
1. Teeth naturally have a yellow shade to them due to the dentine layer which is under the enamel
2. BEFORE any dental procedure, patients MUST have a dental checkup first to ensure their mouth is clear of decay, gum disease and there are no cracks in teeth or other underlying dental issues.
3. Bleaching can cause different degrees of sensitivity
4. Results may vary between individuals
5. Most health funds do not cover this procedure

Hygiene appointments are performed routinely and are essential for the treatment and prevention of gum disease, as well as aiding in the early detection of tooth decay.
Additionally, another essential role performed is educating patients on brushing techniques, nutrition and other lifestyle factors to help maintain good oral health.
